In a heartfelt effort to contribute to environmental sustainability, Toyota Lipa, Batangas, Inc. partnered with the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas, for a meaningful tree-planting activity last August 16, 2024, Friday at Brgy. Pinagkaisahan, a community within the same municipality. The tree seedlings consisted of various forest tree species, including Narra, Molave, Kamagong, and Bitaog. This has been an annual event as part of the many Corporate Social Responsibility activities conducted by the dealer and as TMP’s direction.
The day was filled with camaraderie, determination, and a shared commitment to nurturing the environment. Despite the physical exertion, everyone kept digging and planting, driven by the collective spirit and the knowledge that their efforts would contribute to a greener future.
Participants also expressed immense satisfaction and pride in their hard work. Though, the activity left many pleasantly exhausted, the smiles and laughter shared were a testament to the event’s success. The planted tree seedlings will not only enhance the local landscape but also support biodiversity and combat climate change.
One of the volunteer team members of TLB, Rose Velasquez expressed that she is truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the tree planting event. It was a memorable experience that left a profound impact on her. Seeing everyone’s collective efforts and knowing that she is part of the many volunteers who make a difference feels incredibly rewarding. She mentioned, “Sa panahon ngayon napakaimportante ng ganitong activity as it contributes to the larger fight against climate change lalo at nakakaranas ng maraming bagyo o kalamidad ang ating bansa. Thank you, Toyota Lipa! It’s really inspiring to see how such a meaningful activity can unite people and foster a sense of shared purpose.”
As the day concluded, the sight of newly planted tree seedlings standing tall in the soil served as a reminder of the positive impact that collective efforts can have on the environment. Toyota Lipa, Batangas, Inc. and the Municipality of Cuenca, Batangas, remain committed to continuing their efforts to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
Kristine De Chavez, also one of the volunteers, mentioned that joining the team in tree planting was one of her greatest fulfillment. According to her, the bond they have is extraordinary as they unite as one. “This experience can help our next generation by improving air quality and mitigating climate change,” she said.
