Plant Seedling Donation
August 06, 2021
As an old saying of Steve Maraboli goes, “Plant seeds of happiness, hope, success, and love; it will all come back to you in abundance. This is the law of nature.”
Last August 06, 2021, Toyota Lipa donated a total of five hundred fifty (550) assorted plant seedlings of Fruit-bearing and Forest Trees to the San Jose Eco-Park, in the Municipal of San Jose, Batangas. Plant seedlings included Molave, Fire tree, Narra, Mahogany, Red Guava, Rambutan, Java Plum (Duhat), and Lemon. This was part of TMP’s initiative of the Annual Tree Planting as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity. The initial plan of tree planting with our team members did not happen but instead, we donated the seedlings to our partner LGU-who offered to conduct the tree planting. Regardless, the team members did not feel as if this was compliance or a requirement. Here are their experiences about the activity:
“Plant Seedling Donation is a way to promote awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. This proves that Toyota Lipa is not all about selling cars but is also committed to being part of environmental protection and consciousness. It is such a great activity indeed.”- Shiela, Pollution Control Officer
“It was a worthwhile activity that I enjoy despite all the challenges (pandemic) that we encountered. Having this kind of activity is important for us to renew our commitment to nature. Though limited people participated since we only donated the seedlings, I am still looking forward to finally having a tree planting activity where all our team members can share. It has created a great impact not only for us, but also for our future generations.” – Hannah, Corporate Culture Staff
“Plant Seedling Donation is a great experience as a newly hired employee, as a PCO of TLC. It’s such a privilege to be part of this initiative. I learned that it’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. Thank you, TLB.” – Giezelle, Pollution Control Officer (Toyota Lucena)
Aside from this initiative, the municipality of San Jose issued an ordinance entitled “Bagong Puno at Bagong Buhay Alay sa Kalikasan” (Resolution No. 289-2020, Ordinance No. 038-2020) effective February 01, 2021. The said ordinance mandates all parents, guardians, and applicants in the registration of live birth to plant a tree for mother earth and the newborn child.
This only proves that we can make our own contributions to preserving mother nature even in our own little ways. Moreover, Toyota Lipa is honored to have been a part of this initiative and hopes to get involved in other similar activities that would enable the company to share blessings with the communities in which it operates.
